Airport pick-up at Menara and transfer to your riad or hotel in the medina. Free afternoon to acclimatise and take your first steps through the souks. Dinner at the spectacular Jemaa el-Fna square: the kids will be hypnotised by the acrobats, snake charmers and street musicians. Morocco will have won them over within hours!
Exploration day with a guide specialised in family tours: Majorelle Garden (kids love the turtles and colourful fish), Bahia Palace, artisan workshops where the little ones can try making pottery, themed souks and the buzzing Jemaa el-Fna at sunset. Optional afternoon: Moroccan cooking class for the whole family. Night in a riad with pool.
Morning departure heading south over the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka mountain pass (2,260 m). Stop at the Aït Ben Haddou kasbah (UNESCO World Heritage, filming location of Gladiator and Game of Thrones) — kids will feel like explorers on the ancient walls. Lunch in Ouarzazate. Morning at the stunning Todra Gorges, 300 m high rock walls with a river running between them — kids will be awestruck. Onward to Erfoud (fossil museum, kids can see 500-million-year-old trilobites) and then on to Merzouga at sunset. Family camel ride 🐪 to the VIP camp in the heart of the dunes. Berber dinner under the stars. A magical night in the Sahara!
We wake before dawn to watch the sun rise over the Erg Chebbi dunes — a moment children will remember their whole lives. Free morning at camp: sandboarding down dunes, Berber drum music, searching for desert beetles. Visit to an oasis and a nomad village where the kids can see how desert families live. Return journey passing through Rissani (spice market and crafts) and the magical Draa Valley, dotted with palm trees and golden kasbahs. Arrival at Ouarzazate, Africa's Hollywood: visit to the Atlas Film Studios where Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia and Game of Thrones were filmed. Journey towards the Atlantic crossing the Anti-Atlas with spectacular argan landscapes. Arrival at Agadir, Morocco's sun and beach capital. Seafront hotel with pool. Beach afternoon: fine sand, calm waters and palm trees. Stroll along the Marina with its restaurants and terraces. Kids will enjoy the Oasiria water park in the afternoon.
Coastal route to Essaouira, the jewel of the Atlantic. Stroll through the walled Medina (UNESCO World Heritage): blue and white streets, ramparts overlooking the ocean, the lively fishing harbour where kids will see the colourful boats. Gnawa music in the squares. The thuya wood craftsmen are spectacular. Beach afternoon with fresh Atlantic breeze. Night in Essaouira or return to Agadir.
Relaxed return to Marrakech with optional stops along the way. Free afternoon in the souks for last-minute crafts, spices and gifts. Optional family hammam — a unique relaxation experience to end the trip. Farewell dinner with folk dance show. The kids will each receive a small Berber gift as a keepsake.
Breakfast at the riad and transfer to Menara Airport with plenty of time for check-in. Suitcases full of memories, handicrafts and incredible photographs. Hearts full of love for Morocco. The kids will already be asking to come back... and so will the parents! Until the next family adventure.
