110 metres of pure nature

The Ouzoud Waterfalls are one of the most breathtaking natural spectacles on the entire African continent. With 110 metres of free fall across three main drops, the water of the El-Abid river forms a permanent rainbow over the turquoise pools at the base.

But what makes Ouzoud a truly unique experience goes beyond the falls: the wild Barbary macaques that approach visitors with great confidence, the centuries-old olive oil mills on the riverbanks and the silence broken only by the roar of the water make this an excursion you will never forget.

The 4 unmissable highlights of Ouzoud

The Falls — 110 m of Spectacle
Three successive water drops creating a unique microclimate. The constant mist cools you even in summer. Perfect for photography at any time of day.
🐒
The Barbary Macaques
Barbary macaques live wild in the trees around the falls. They approach confidently and create unique moments, especially with children. Please don't feed them for their wellbeing.
Swimming in Natural Pools
At the base of the waterfall, crystal-clear pools (May–October) allow swimming with a view of the 110-metre drop. One of the most refreshing experiences in Morocco.
Lunch with a View of the Falls
Local restaurants with overhanging terraces above the river, metres from the falls. Tagine, kefta and fresh orange juice with the water flowing below your feet.

All about Ouzoud

Can you swim at Ouzoud Waterfalls?

Yes, in season (May–October) it is possible to swim in the natural pools at the base of the falls. The water is cold but refreshing. Bring a swimsuit and water shoes if you have them. In winter the current can be strong and swimming is not safe.

How long do you need at Ouzoud?

You need 3 to 4 hours at the site to enjoy it fully: descend to the pools, have lunch, explore the mills and climb back up. Since the drive from Marrakech is 3 hours each way, this is a full-day excursion.

Can Ouzoud be combined with other visits?

It is possible to combine it with Lalla Takerkoust Lake on the way back, though the day will be very full. If Ouzoud is your priority, we recommend dedicating the full day to enjoy it without rushing.

Is it suitable for children?

It is a fantastic excursion for children. The monkeys are the highlight for the little ones. The trail down to the falls has steps but is accessible for children over 4. Children under 4 can enjoy the views from the top.
