The Best of Morocco in May

Rose Festival (Kelaa M'Gouna)

Morocco's most special natural event: the Dadès Valley is covered in millions of blooming Damask roses. The festival includes music, craft markets and the election of the Rose Queen. If you do the southern circuit in May, this is a must.

Excellent weather all day

In May Morocco has perfect days: sunny and warm (25-32°C) without the oppressive heat of summer. You can explore the medina all day without being forced to shelter from the midday heat.

Last chance for the green

In June the landscapes begin to dry out. May is the last chance to see the Atlas and Dadès valleys at their greenest, with the contrast of snow-capped mountains in the background.

Better value than Easter

May offers the same great weather as April but with fewer tourists and slightly lower prices. Ideal for families and groups looking for the best balance between quality and cost.

Rose Festival 2026: Usually held in the first week of May in Kelaa M'Gouna. If your circuit includes the south (Merzouga-Ouarzazate), we can incorporate it into the itinerary. Contact us to confirm exact dates.
