Imlil is the gateway to Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa (4,167 m). Just 63 km from Marrakech, a completely different world: mountain trails, Berber villages clinging to the peaks and the absolute silence of the Atlas.
The contrast is striking: you leave the labyrinths and chaos of Marrakech's medina and within less than an hour you are walking among snow-capped peaks, breathing pure mountain air and greeting Berber shepherds whose way of life has hardly changed in centuries.
Imlil is where traditional Morocco meets mountain adventure. A day here will give you more memories than any souvenir from the medina.
Visit the village of Imlil, walk High Atlas trails, experience Berber life and enjoy views of Toubkal. Perfect for families and all fitness levels. No summit ascent.

The Reraya river descends from Toubkal's snows creating waterfalls and crystal-clear pools perfect for refreshing yourself after the hike.
From Imlil you can clearly see the summit of Jebel Toubkal, snow-covered for most of the year. A panorama that leaves you speechless.
A 30-minute walk from Imlil, the village of Armd is built on a rock and seems to float above the valley. One of the most photogenic views in the Atlas.

The best time is April to June and September to November. In winter there is snow (spectacular but requires proper gear). In summer it is perfect for escaping the Marrakech heat.
